London is a major metropolitan city with a series of suburban residential towns surrounding the commercial, financial and cultural centre.
The college is at the heart of the transport network, providing easy access from all parts of the city. Depending on your budget and your preference, you can choose to live in many different areas with different characters and prices. Living in London need not be costly, by buying fresh food in local street markets, bus/tube passes rather than individual journey tickets and getting good value meals from local restaurants, you can live reasonably. The college has extensive information about the professions in London and many of the exhibitions and lecturers at professional bodies are available to the students. You don’t need to buy every book on the reading list and you can often get essential books second hand. Many of the study and cultural resources of London are free. There are student discounts at many theatres and shops. |
